Reviews for our B&B Inns

Here are some reviews from guests taken from TripAdvisor.

National House Inn, Marshall, Michigan
We and our relatives occupied five rooms at the inn recently while attending our daughter's graduation from a nearby college. We knew we would have find meticulously kept rooms in a great historic structure, as we have stayed there on other occasions while visiting our college student. The National House is a 1835 stagecoach stop restored in 1976. We have stayed in six of the inn's 16 rooms at various times and have always been happy with the historic character and comfort of the lodgings. The inn is decorated in Early American in the public areas, and the rooms are Early American, Victorian and country. The inn is in the middle of more than 100 other historic structures, mosly houses, in Marshall--walking the streets is like strolling through a living museum of residential architecture (and be sure to check out the Honolulu House). The house is set in a nice garden and faces a fountain in the town's central park. Barbara, the owner, is very welcoming and a real enthusiast about the inn and Marshall. Other staff members are also friendly and helpful. Staying there is a memorable experience. A gem.

Beaumont Inn, Harrodsburg, Kentucky
We spent a relaxing weekend at the Beaumont Inn. The staff was friendly and helpful. The inn is old, but well maintained. Our room was on the third floor, and in good shape. The pool was great, and we pretty much had it to ourselves late on Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast both mornings we were there. My wife especially enjoyed the pancakes.
We did not dine in the restaurant, but did have dinner on Saturday at the inn. The food was exceptional, and the service was great.
We visited Fort Harrod, and a winery (Lovers Leap) on Saturday. Enjoyed both.
We would definitely stay here again.

I spent two nights at the beautiful Beaumont Inn during" The Longest Garage sale" in August, and I am counting the day's until my return. What southern hospitality. The room was so comfortable and the food at the Tavern and the main dining room were out of this world. What a treat !!!

Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, Logan, Ohio
We went for a wine tasting here at the Inn. The food and wine was fabulous, rooms great, and hospitality #1. We will definitely by back again soon!

We loved our visit to the Cedar Falls Inn! If you are looking for a place to get away from it all for awhile, this is the place for you. No tv's and no telephones are just part of the reason to go there. Our room at the Inn was wonderful and so was the dining. If you go, make sure to make dinner reservations when you book your room. Also, there are beautiful sights to see at Hocking Hills State Park. The Inn is located in the state park. Give The Inn at Cedar Falls a try-you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful setting in the Hocking Hills. Clean, comfortable cabin -- no noisy phones or televisions. We've also stayed in the cottages and liked them. A terrific welcoming staff.

Inn at Gristmill Square, Warm Springs, Virginia
This past weekend we stayed at the Inn at Gristmill Square to attend a wedding at the Homestead, about 4 miles away. When we found out the Homestead's basic room was $400+ a night, we decided to look at the bride and groom's list of B&Bs around the Homstead that were more affordable. From the websites, the Gristmill looked the most quaint, so that's how we chose it.

We had Apt #1, which was a 2 level, 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment. It was huge! It sleeps 4, with a king in one bedroom, and 2 twin beds in another. When we first arrived, we checked in at the office and then parked across the street at our building. It is a simple duplex away from the main complex, which is a small cluster of rooms. Our room was $150 a night, which was amazing compared to the Homestead. Our apartment had one of those small, curling staircases that took you up to the 2nd level. Pretty tricky to navigate with luggage, but doable. Very quaint.

Our king bed was very comfortable and the master bedroom is huge. They had plenty of extra towels in the linen closet, which was convenient. There are 2 balconies, which were great for viewing the beautiful fall scenery, especially the little brook that runs right out front. We read on tripadvisor that the furniture is a little outdated, which was true, but who cares?? It felt like a very historic building and it added to the appeal of being in a B&B in the mountains.

Each morning, you can call the front desk and they bring you muffins, coffee and juice to your room! All the way up until noon. Such a nice touch. What made life especially easy was that the Homestead provided a free shuttle for offsite guests of the wedding, so none of us ever had to drive to the wedding events. I think they do this for anyone coming to and from the Homestead, whether you're staying there or not.

If you're like us and are looking for a B&B around the Homestead - stay here! From what all our friends said about their respective hotels/B&Bs around the area, ours was the nicest.

Murphin Ridge Inn, West Union, Ohio
Murphin Ridge Inn is beyond charming. I just returned from a stay at the Inn with my mother, my ten-year-old niece, and my eight-month-old son. Everywhere you turn is a beautiful view of forest or farmland. Trails, tennis, croquet and basketball are available for those who want to be active. There are many places to sit and soak in
the quiet.

We stayed in the guest rooms, but the cabins look spectacular. They are quite close to each other, however, so if you're looking for something secluded the cabins will most likely not be spaced far enough apart for you.

The best part- the FOOD. Do yourself a favor and eat dinner here as well. We also had them pack lunches for our trip home. Breakfast one inlcuded Foggy Bottom Pancakes- which taste just like donuts, delicious sausage and homemade cinammon toast. Breakfast two included cheese quiche with tomato gravy, melon, bacon, and blueberry muffin. For dinner I had the butternut squash gnocchi and the curry cauliflower soup. Words can't describe how good.

The owners are very personable and make it a point to get to know you. Highlight of the trip was seeing three shooting stars within minutes of each other while relaxing by the bonfire. This place is heaven and I can't wait to go back!
